Dumbbell nebula (Messier 27)
The Dumbbell Nebula ia also known as Messier 27 object or NGC 6853. It is a planetary nebula (the first discovered, by Charles Messier, in 1764) and it belongs in the constellation of Vulpunera. It is visible by small telescopes, even with binoculars, in dark skies. His magnitude is 7.5 and his apparent diameter is 8x5,6 '. His absolute size is estimated at -0.6 and the maximum diameter of 2, 9 light years.
The responsible central star (white dwarf) has a radius estimated at just 0,055 solar rays and with mass of 0,56 the corresponding solar. Challenging and distinguishing features are his network of nodes (light and dark) and the his bipolarity. From his pace of expansion, his age is estimated just from 10,000 to 15,000 years.
The acquired frames of Jim Misti (LRGB) and Dave (proton) (OIII and Ha) were used.
Technical elements of the used frames
Jim Misti's
Luminance, 30 min, 5-min subs
Red, 15 min, 5-min subs
Green, 15 min, 5-min subs
Blue, 15 min, 5-min subs
Dave (Proton)
Preprocessed OIII and Ha frames by Dave (Proton) were used. Dave shared these frames in the community of Astrobin. These frames were the basis for this synthesis. However unfortunately I do not have more information or to him and nor to these frames.
The final process was done by me in pixinsight and photoshop, in June 2015.
During my involvement in photographing the "deep sky" I missed the accompaniment of music, as my musical experience guides me. So I decided to fill my astrophotos with my music. From September 2016 as a starting point, therefore, together with the Flaming Star Nebula, I present to You, the ‘Floydish Pulsar I’, as my first musical composition (composition, performance and production by me), always inspired by these images.
Parallel Words ! and Dancing Stars I, complete my first trilogy.
